No chart is stored: a tropical hypersurface is PIECEWISE LINEAR: it is the corner locus where the maximum of the tropical polynomial's affine pieces is attained twice, which is a subdivision of R^3, not the image of a smooth map of two parameters. The shipped implementation is authoritative; an unverified transcription would silently define a different surface.
